NetherRealm Studios has unvieled Scorpion as the third Injustice DLC character.
In a move that will most likely surprise no one, developer NetherRealm Studios has unveiled the third DLC character for their popular DC Universe brawler Injustice: Gods Among Us and boy does he look familiar….
Sporting a brand new costume designed by DC co-publisher Jim Lee, Scorpion enters the superhero fray wielding his trusted arsenal of swords, rope darts (with the end shaped cleverly like a scorpion’s stinger), and hellfire. In addition to showing off the undead ninja’s fighting style, Scorpion’s reveal trailer also showcases the Black Lantern Superman costume and a brief tease at the end pretty much confirms who the fourth DLC character will be (hint: he’s green and his initials are M.M.).
One thing the trailer does *not* reveal however is when exactly Scorpion will be available but it’s safe to assume it won’t be a long wait. Scorpion will be free for season pass holders while non-pass holders will have to lay down $5 before they can take him for a spin.
Scorpion’s inclusion into the Injustice roster will undoubtedly be a polarizing decision for fans (many have already cried foul but apparently he was one of the most requested characters on the game’s Facebook page) but fortunately, NetherRealm creative director Ed Boon has been hinting that the initial four season pass characters may not be the only DLC characters the Injustice team plans on releasing.
What do you think? Are you excited to see Scorpion mixing it up with the likes of Superman and Solomon Grundy? Or should he have just stayed in the fiery caverns of Outworld where he belongs?
