Metroid and Ghouls and Ghosts get the Super treatment this week from Nintendo for fans to download.
It’s Thursday and you know what that means don’t you? Of course you do! It’s that time of the week for Nintendo to update the eShop/Virtual Console catalogue and show off the games they know you want. This week, a couple of old favorites come back into the spotlight as well as some fresh new faces. It’s going to be a fun ride so let’s get right into it.
Games being on sale from the eShop seem to be old hat lately but it makes people want to buy the games that much more. This time Mario is getting in on the act. When you buy/download Super Mario World from the Wii U Virtual Console, you will then have the option to buy Super Mario Bros. 2 for half price. This offer will only last a week so make sure to jump on it quickly. Also on sale this week is Bit.Trip Presents Runner2: Future Legend of Rhythm Alien is 25% off until May 30th.
Classic old school games coming back this week are two Super Nintendo classics, Super Ghouls and Ghosts and Super Metroid. Super Ghouls and Ghosts follows the same storyline as the first two games, help Arthur save the Princess.( Stop me if you’ve heard this one before) The games from this franchise are some of the tougher games out there so grab the game for 8 bucks and be ready for a challenge. Super Metroid is also available this week. Join Samus in her Super Nintendo adventure where she is desperately trying to reacquire the last Metroid from the space pirates. Enjoy an even bigger world than the NES version as well as a map so you won’t get hopelessly lost. I have a feeling even with the map, you’ll get lost. The eShop isn’t getting left out in the cold. Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes will be available to download on May 21 for the Wii U. Join Batman as he tries to defeat the Joker with help from classic DC super heroes. This game is the Wii U version, remade to be played on the system. Also this week is Swords and Soldiers 3D. Rewrite the pages of history by taking a side and control that entire army. The game plays like a side scroller but has the heart and soul of a strategy game.
