Later in the day, Call of Duty’s Black Ops Twitter account posted this mysterious (picture below). You have to suspect that Activision is getting ahead of the recent “leaks,” and is officially kick starting the yearly hype train centered around Call of Duty. A new Call of Duty this year wouldn’t surprise anyone, however that’s not the biggest issue. When leaks first spread about Ghost, retailer listings speculated that it would be a next-gen exclusive. If true, there wouldn’t be a version for current-gen systems.
I don’t believe that will be the case, but it wouldn’t surprise to me at the same time. I could see Activison getting ahead of competitors like EA, and Ubisoft when new consoles hitting store shelves. We should know more about Call of Duty: Ghost at Microsoft’s Xbox reveal event on May 21st when they reveal to the public the first details about the next xbox.
