The newest Wii U system update is available for download. You might be asking yourself what the update does to my Wii u system.

The newest Wii U system update is available for download. Now you might be asking yourself what the update does to my Wii u system. That is a very good question and allow me to give the details. It adds new features as well as certain things that will allow the system to run faster and smoother, something the Wii U owners have been complaining about.

"Wii U continues to grow and evolve with new features that make it a better experience for everyone," said Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America's president and COO. "Now owners can navigate to their favorite games and services even faster, or play some of their favorite classic games."

Now the main reason why you’re reading this: what does the update actually provide me that my Wii U couldn’t do before? For starters, it speeds the system up and allows it to switch between different programs faster. It also allows the system to be started in Wii mode, by holding the B button down on the Game Pad as well as installing games and apps in the background while other games are being played. This is huge because now Wii U owners won’t have to drop everything and download the program.

Another helpful addition is being able to download something while the system is off. The system will go into a stand-by state and then when the download is finished, it will shut off. You’ll also be able to download multiple things at once, which in this day and age sounds like it should be routine and now it is. You will now be able to transfer data between USB storage units. There is also an easier way to differentiate your Nintendo Network ID and someone else’s. The last part is basically minor details in that you will be able to change the size of the TV screen output as well as an undo/redo button being added to the Miiverse drawing input screen. It looks like Nintendo is getting the bugs worked out of the Wii U.
