The 3DS started off slow but has hit its stride with great games. Will the Wii U follow suit?

Nintendo is making strides bringing the 3DS into the product it should have been at the launch but didn’t have the games at the time. The times are a’ changing and the library of games for the 3DS is getting so much better than the launch window. The games are doing so well that 20 million physical copies of 3DS games gave been sold.

The 3DS is being carried by Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, and the continued success of Fire Emblem. Luigi, being back in the starring role has people excited as well as spending their hard earn money. Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon has sold 365,000 in March alone, and has sold 415,000 physical/digital copies to date. Fire Emblem continued its strong sales by selling 64,000 physical/digital copies in March and combine that with the 240,000 copies sold to date, Fire Emblem is making its niche in the Nintendo universe.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, like all Pokemon games, have strong sales, has sold 145,000 physical/digital copies in March. With the Newest Nintendo Direct, it looks like the 3DS isn’t going anywhere and will continue to hit its stride. Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins will be coming out soon( April 24th) and will show the story of how Chase McCain becomes the stalwart undercover cop he is in the Wii U version on the Lego City Police Department. Also, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D will be coming out in May, Animal Crossing: New Leaf will be coming out June 9th and Mario and Luigi: Dream Team will be out August 11th.

Continuing on from the Nintendo Direct, Even more 3DS games will be released in the future and should create new 3DS fans and convert the masses who have held back on getting one. New Yoshi’s Island, new Mario Party, new Legend of Zelda, and new Mario Golf will have people giving Nintendo their hard earned money. Combine this news with the upcoming Wii U games that will be coming out in the future and Nintendo will be building on the 3DS success and help the Wii U. Game and Wario, Pikmin 3, Disney’s Planes, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Mario Kart, Super Mario, Super Smash Bros, and a new 3D Mario should keep the fans excited for Nintendo. Oh, and did I mention the new Pokemon games?
