Chichuki Plays Voidface

It's that time again for a new episode of Chichuki Plays, the show where I go hands-on with upcoming games and show them off. Usually, it's about an hour or so but I don't want to spoil too much of the game for you. This time we're looking at Voidface on Steam!

Fans of the bullet hell genre will want to take a look at Voidface. Play the tutorial first so you can learn the basics and then go nuts. The game wants you to play each level on hard difficulty first so you know how nuts it can get. Then it says play them on easy mode and the easy mode isn't a walk in the park either. You can tell by my hands-on video that this is a really tough game.

Lucky for you, you get power-ups that you can use during levels. The first few allow you to make bullets disappear, which is very helpful, and another one that allows you to use a sword for quick attacks. I didn't find the sword too helpful but the bullets going away was very helpful. In most bullet hell games, you'll have to learn the patterns of enemies and even then, you'll need luck to take them down.

I was playing this game with a controller, and I have to say that I hate playing these types of games with control stick aiming. I'm not the best shooter so I have struggle with these sometimes. One major control plus is that you can set it to auto shoot. What I mean by that is you only have to puck the trigger once to shoot and then you get a rapid fire like weapon. Again, the game is really hard but not having to worry about shooting is a nice thing. You can just worry about lining up your shots. You'll also unlock new illustrations and equipment for your character, which is cool. I really like the cardboard box I unlocked.

All-in-all Voidface is crazy difficult. Practice your attacks and expect to fail. That way when you defeat an enemy, it will feel great! It would have been nice to have boss encounters not have three monsters when you can only take one hit(hard) and two on easy, but I digress.
