It's that time again for a new episode of Chichuki Plays, the show where I go hands-on with upcoming games and show them off. Usually, it's about an hour or so but I don't want to spoil too much of the game for you. This time we're looking at the Tokens Demo on Steam.
Luck is a game of chance. Lucky for you, I'm ready to take that chance for you in Tokens. Have the best deck and flip your tokens over better than the house. Do that and you win, sounds simple right? That's hardly the case. You'll have to play your tokens right if you want to be the big winner. You'll have to figure out where the perfect placement is for each token and when. You might have three in a row and then down the middle diagonally and that could mean a big payday.
The mechanics take a little getting used to because there were a few times I thought I was going to get a bigger score than I did. You'll also be able to buy new tokens in the shop as well as unlock new skills for your deck. You'll have the ability to play other people in the casino to earn rewards. There was one player who looks like a voodoo medicine man that I had a bit of trouble telling what the outcomes would be from his game. The old lady in the casino was another side game that I don't really know what to do with. I think more explanation for these would help things out in the long run.
Games like this have a way of humbling you extremely quickly. I was on a roll and thought I was doing very well. Then one thing led to another, and the run came crashing down. The best part is that runs aren't too long so jump right back in. I'm looking forward to seeing more from Tokens.
