It's that time again for a new episode of Chichuki Plays, the show where I go hands-on with upcoming games and show them off. Usually, it's about an hour or so but I don't want to spoil too much of the game for you. This time we're looking at Hank: Drowning on Dry Land on Steam. Fans of quirky puzzle games will want to check this one out.
Right off the bat you can tell the game is going to be something because of the bitchin theme song and graphics. I didn't want the video to get flagged but there is more of the song near the end of the playthrough so watch to the end. You also have the option to hear the theme song from the menu if you're interested.
The game starts out with Hank having a drink in a bar when things go south. He has been poisoned by the bartender. It turns out that the bartender is the Unraveller, the host of the evening. Hank gets transported into another realm where nothing is as it seems. Lucky for us, it appears, that Hank is immortal and has the ability to rewind/speed up time. Our task is to break out the Unraveller's clutches and save a hostage. BUT the catch is we have to find three buttons as well as a time limit of 2 minutes. You have the option of resetting/gaining more time, but you have to locate the means to do that. We also have to deal with dogs running amuck as well as not running into our past/future self. Can't have a time paradox, now can we?
The game is all about patterns. They're tough to get the hang of at the start but once you don, you'll be flying through gameplay.Make sure you check out the gameplay video below!
