Chichuki Plays Cloudheim

It's that time again for a new episode of Chichuki Plays, the show where I go hands-on with upcoming games and show them off. Usually, it's about an hour or so but I don't want to spoil too much of the game for you. This time we're looking at Cloudheim on Steam. This game is an online game where you can play with multiple people/friends. Plan to go on adventures with friends and have fun.

I want this be perfectly clear, I had a lot of trouble getting this game to run on my PC. I had settings on the lowest settings you could have, and it still gave me trouble. I hope if you want to play this game on your PC, you have better luck than I did.

Cloudheim is a cool idea for a multiplayer game. Think The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild if Zelda was multiplayer and had slight city building. Go on quests for items and equipment and then head back to Cloudheim to craft new tools. One of the cooler features in Cloudheim is that you can change species classes on the fly and level up skills for the class in question. That is pretty cool because in games like this, you usually don't have the freedom to change that freely.

The combat is interesting in the game too. You could compare it Zelda games, except that you can kick enemies as well as lasso them. I loved it when I lassoed explosives and got the enemy to walk into them. You also had to fight a boss and the only way to break shields on the boss was to kick things into him. After breaking the shield, you could lasso him to get him off his feet and do major damage. I really liked the combo system of the combat. I already mentioned kicking/lasso attacks, but you could also use weapons to juggle enemies in addition to the kicks/lassoing. With more people on a server, combat could be really fun.

Townbuilding could be pretty cool too. You could compare the town building to games like Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma in terms of being able to walk freely around the area and build anywhere in said area. You also have to build different stations to upgrade weapons and equipment. One thing I didn't care like was how annoying it was to put items back into the chest. Items go into a communal chest where everyone has access to them. One person can use the items and the whole town gains the benefits from the results. Plan accordingly ion quests where certain people collect certain things and so on. I eventually figured out how to get things back into the Cloudheim item chest, but it was a little tedious.

Cloudheim is a cool idea on the multiplayer online crafting/battling formula. MAKE SURE your PC can run it before you get it. It's playable but having more people on a server could make it tougher to play. Characters look really cool and you can lasso/kick enemies like Charlie Brown kicking a football. Well, you know if ole Charlie Brown could make contact but I'm getting off topic.
