It's that time again for a new episode of Chichuki Plays, the show where I go hands-on with upcoming games and show them off. Usually, it's about an hour or so but I don't want to spoil too much of the game for you. This time we're looking at the On-Together Demo on Steam.
Fans of multiplayer games will want to check out On-Together. You can join a server and invite your friends/family/whoever to play with. I want to make this clear, I didn't have anyone to play with for the demo so don't let that take anything away from the game. The demo didn't have a lot available but it does show off some of the more interesting features in the game. There are a lot of customization features in the game so you can make your character exactly the way you want it. You can change the clothes, head shape, skin color for example. If you can think it up, there's a good chance you can modify it. I was a human and changed my head to a racoon or what I thought was a racoon. You can also get new clothes and accessories, like a backpack, for your player.
Almost everything costs money so how do you earn it? It's the age-old question as old as time. Luckily there is an easy answer in this game. In the demo, you could go fishing and catch some fish. There's a wide array of fish in the sea so you'll have to fish quite a bit. You can upgrade your fishing rod as well as buy new/different bait for your rod. Different bait/equipment catches different fish so try to experiment. You can also earn tickets from doing activities like studying or focusing. You could do what I did and jumped onto the basketball court and drained some three pointers. Both basketball and fishing have you play a mini game to do the act. I use mini game loosely here as in fishing, you line up the fish to the colored spot and stop a power bar at the right time for Basketball. It's very satisfying to go all the way to the other end of the court and sink a basket.
One of the more interesting things in the game is how you get around the island. You can walk or you could blow a bubble gum bubble and float into the sky. After getting into the sky, you can float down with the help of an umbrella. You can buy more bubble gum from vending machines and stores. There were quite a few biosphere looking domes on the island but they weren't available in the demo. I assume you would be able to do all kinds of things in those with your friends.
