Robots Make Everything Better! Chichuki Plays Resetna

It's that time again for a new episode of Chichuki Plays, the show where I go hands-on with upcoming games and show them off. Usually it's about an hour or so but I don't want to spoil too much of the game for you. This time, we're looking at Resetna on Steam. As I mentioned in the header, robots make everything better!

In a world where organic life has long since perished, ReSetna is awakened by APEX AI to confront the growing threat of the mysterious Signal. Resetna is a action adventure game as well as a Metroidvania that stars robots. It terms of attacks, it also felt like a hack and slash game as well. There is a slight tutorial mode at the start of the game and I suggest that you give that a go so you know what things do and how to play. One thing I usually hate in games like this is a the parry system but I was surprised how simple/easy to use said parry system was. I usually never use the parry but with how simple it was to use, I found myself breaking it and testing it against enemies because I wanted to learn how to do it. I could also say the same thing about dodging in Resetna as well. I also liked how the map wasn't that tough to read and things were marked clearly. A game that has a good map gets bonus points in my book.

The combat in the game is pretty smooth too. I really enjoyed being able to attack in the air to hit certain enemies. One thing that I didn't like was when there were enemies on the same plain as me and then non playable robots in the foreground. The first few times was tough to tell who you could attack but after you see it a few times, you get the hang of it. The combat and healing reminded me a lot of the Dark Souls franchise where you have a certain number of heals as well as collecting currency when you kill enemies.

Another interesting mechanic in Resetna is the Chip Upgrade System. You have a grid where you can place chips. Think Tetris in how you can place ships in your upgrade system. These upgrades might be what keeps you alive in a tough fight.
