It's that time again for a new episode of Chichuki Views, the show where I go hands-on with upcoming games and show them off. Usually it's about an hour or so but I don't want to spoil too much of the game for you. Today, we're checking Footgun:Underground. I'm not usually into Soccer but this game isn't your normal game of Soccer.
Footgun Underground is an action Roguelike where you play the role of Striker Steve(or other characters later on) in a post apocalyptic world. The only ally you have is a metal leg that you have no idea how you got and a soccer ball. Along the way, you will get another soccer ball and all kinds of upgrades and skills to make yourself the best killer striker ever!
You will have to on guard as different rooms in the journey have different things in them. You might find a room that's a shop that will allow you to upgrade your attributes or soccer balls. You will need coins that you find from killing enemies in various rooms to buy things so make sure you collect them when you see them. You might also find a gumball machine along the way that has upgrades that you can buy.
Enemies will be in rooms as well so be careful. At the end of the cycle, you will run into a boss fight and if your equipment is good, you shouldn't have any trouble with the first boss at least. One of my favorite features about the game is that it's physics based. What I mean by that is you have to line up your shots just like your kicking a soccer ball in real life. If you need to kick the ball to hit an enemy on the ceiling, you will have to actually have to think about how to kick a ball to hit the ceiling.
I played the demo at PAX East and really enjoyed my time with Footgun Underground. Now that I have played it at home, my feelings haven't changed about the game. I have to recommend Footgun Underground and would like to thank the devs for the review code.
