Garbage Pail Kids: Mad Mike and the Quest for Stale Gum-Chichuki Views

This time around, I'm checking out the Garbage Pail Kids: Mad Mike and the Quest For Stale Gum. This is another game that I saw at PAX East. I remembered the Garbage Pail Kids growing up as the boys alternative to the Cabbage Patch dolls. In the game, you go across different time periods, going on a quest for stale gum. Your party consists of four playable characters like Super Mario 2 where each character has a different ability. You will need to use the strength of all four party members over the course of each stage. However, the levels are too big in my opinion and there really is no way to tell what direction to go in the stages. It's hard to tell what platforms you can jump on as well. There are a lot of extra features in the game like the real trading cards the characters are based on. There is added music in the game as well as concept art too. The game has the classic game as well as the updated game to play. I had a weird issue where neither version of the game would start. The original game has a "watch gameplay mode" that lets you watch and then join the playthrough. That was the way I had to get the game to start. That being said, the game feels like an rough classic NES game. The sprite work is very well done as well as the extra features. Check out the Chichuki Views video below for thoughts and opinions about the game.
