Arcana of Paradise:The Tower-Chichuki Views

Another day, another Chichuki Views episode. This time on the show, I'm checking out Arcana of Paradise: The Tower. I played this game at PAX East this year and enjoyed what I saw. The rouguelike genre gets another member and fans of the genre will be happy. Your party consists of two children who are, for a better term, living at the tower and are trying to survive. They need food and lucky for them the tower has food but it's only bread and you have to go into the unknown of the tower to find it. Did I mention that you need to find food for all your fellow kids on the tower. The combat in the tower is simple and it feels like it could be addictive. I found myself wanting to play more. There are all kinds of interesting places/people in the tower that, if you play enough, should run into. Those encounters could be a good thing, like more bread, or a bad thing like getting a bad card for your deck. The combat also uses trading cards to fight. You might think a boss fight is tough but with the right cards, you could destroy them in seconds. I'd like to thank the folks at SHUEISHA GAMES for the review code. Check out the Chichuki Views video below for hands-on thoughts and opinions.
