It's that time again for another episode of Chichuki Views. This time on the program, we're checking out Grim Guardians: Demon Purge. The great minds at INTI CREATES have done it again with this one. If you need a game that has an old school feel to it, call INTI CREATES. Grim Guardians knocks it out of the park with retro feels/charms combined with a modern style. The voice work in the game is top notch as well; my personal favorite is when Shinobu shouts "You're Swiss cheese!" when she pumps them full of lead from her machine gun. Fans of the Castlevania franchise will feel right at home with Grim Guardians as there are sub weapons to use, special attacks, and different paths to take in each level. The game allows you to play solo or co-op as each girl has a different play style. Shinobu shoots a gun and is taller. Maya is shorter, which allows her to crawl under things, and specialize in close range combat. If one sister is knocked out, she's not out of commission as you can revive her with CPR. You just have to get back to where she fainted and revive her there. Grim Guardians: Demon Purge is a great time and you will want to jump back into it and try to find each path in each level. Check out the Chichuki Vews video below to see hands-on/impressions and to see why I'm giving the game a 9/10.
UPDATE:March 8th- Due to Trademark Issues, INTI CREATES has decided to change the name from Grim Guardians:Demon Purge to Gal Guardians:Demon Purge in English speaking territories. Maya and Shinobu are characters in the Gal Gun franchise and other Gal Gun characters appear in Gal Guardians so the name change makes sense.
