I was lucky enough to get my hands on an early access code for Lost Epic, a "Souls-like" game that has a lot of charm. You have to remember that Lost Epic is in early access but the version I played felt pretty complete. In this era of gaming, players like quick to no tutorial and the tutorial in this game is short and sweet. You learn the basics and that's all you need to know. Everything feels easy to learn such as crafting items/weapons to accepting new quests. The special attacks your character can use depend on the direction you point the left control stick and that made things tough at times. There are certain enemies that tell you when they're going to attack and you need to use a special attack to break their defense but I found myself using the wrong special attack. It came to a point where I unequiped a weapon so I didn't have access to the wrong special attack. Hanging off cliffsides and wall jumps are a nice touch and they're really easy to use. I really like the way the characters are designed and they don't feel out of place in a game like this.
The game had a hiccup here and there like the first enemy fight in the tutorial teleported you to the fight rather than appear naturally. It was also giving me slight issues when I tried to change the size of the screen as it looked like it was frozen. Those were the only issues I had with this early access build.
