E3 2019: Hands On With Super Crush KO

During Pax East this year I was able to play Super Crush KO and loved it. Fast-forward to this years E3 and the game was playable on the show floor and you know I had to give it another spin!

You have to save humanity and your kitty from the swarms of robots that are invading Earth. On the plus side, you have a stylish windbreaker jacket that doesn’t help at all, it just looks super cute. Anyway, The game plays like a run and gun where you have to clear each segment of enemies before you can move on to the next segment. The segments rage from easy to pretty tough as there can be a lot of enemies on the screen at one time so be careful. You’ll have the ability to gain special attacks over the course of the level in the form of collecting food that you find along the way.

You might find a slice of pizza that allows you to perform an uppercut punch or a bucket of popcorn that allows for air attacks. It’s up to you to use these attacks wisely as there is a meter so you can’t constantly use special attacks. You do have the option to combo them together so one second you’re air attacking and the next you’re shooting. It also has beat-em-up elements to it as well with the quick pacing and the wave upon wave of enemy attackers coming at you.

There is going to be online leaderboards and ranks to show how well you did in each level. Super Crush KO was supposed to release this year but it was delayed until 2020 and that’s a bummer because it’s a really fun game with a lot of charm put into it. It will still be good when it finally releases but it’s hard to wait almost a year to save Chubbz, the cat. The game plays great too but who knows what that robot is gonna do to Chubbz for all that time?
