Next up on the Pax East 2019 reality tour was a stop at the Sold Out booth to see two games, Radical Rabbit Stew and Little Friends: Dogs And Cats. Both games have their charms as well as that something that makes them unique so let’s jump right into it!
Radical Rabbit Stew is a puzzle game that has you smacking rabbits over the head with a wooden spoon, into a pot so they won’t eat you first. Some of the puzzles are very simple and then some of them made you think for a few minutes. If you made a mistake, you could replay the level and the completionist in me was always going for the perfect ranking. You’ll be able to pick up and play right away since the controls are very simple but the boss fight at the end of the demo was pretty challenging so you’ll have to stay on guard during gameplay. Radical Rabbit Stew is a cute, charming game but unfortunately it isn’t coming out until 2020 so hang tight until then.
Next up was another cute game, Little Friends: Dogs and Cats, which was being billed as a successor to Nintendogs. You’ll be able to play with all kinds of breeds of cats and dogs in this game and train them. You’ll be able to train them, pet them, and teach them all kinds of tricks. You’ll be able to treat these cats and dogs just like any pet you’d have in real life. You can dress them in all kinds of outfits and accessories and pet them for hours! Them demo didn’t allow you to do too much with your cat or dog but it did allow you to pet them with the touch screen on the Switch, it allowed you to dress them up and give them water. It allowed you to perform the basics of pet care for your kitty or puppy. You had quite a few breeds of puppy to choose from and having a Golden Retriever of my own, that was the only way to go. It will be interesting to see if you can interact with other puppies online or have other pups come to your Switch, only time will tell.
If you’re a fan of puppies, kitties, or bopping bunnies on the head, Sold Out has something coming for you!
