Hands On With Salad Hunt-Pax East 2018

Those of you who know me know that I’m not a fan of salads but this salad is different. This salad is electronic and can be played on mobile devices! Please allow me to introduce to you Salad Hunt, the shooting game that takes place in the kitchen where you will need to be quick on your feet to take care of all the groceries running amok.

If you have played shooting games in the past, then Salad Hunt will be ideal for you. It’s a more laid back approach at the shooter formula but it gets addicting when you’ve been playing it for awhile. It can also be pretty soothing too, as was the case with me when it took forever to get into Pax because of security screening and I played this first. It starts out slow at first and then the flow of enemy food keeps coming faster and you think it’s all over. You’ll be able to switch weapons during battle when you find them in the kitchen and they could range from bowls of lettuce to knives to forks to rapid-fire forks.

You will have to locate the weapons and figure out which ones work best. There are quite a few food monsters coming to ruin your day as well, such as the tomato guy and the pepper dog to name a few. Each enemy does something different during gameplay like the tomato runs around and the pepper dog needs two hits where after the first hit, sets on fire and runs differently. The game wants you to attack everything in the kitchen and that’s the way you can make currency and find everything that’s hidden in the kitchen.

You can destroy stove doors and cabinet doors for example. It reminded me of a straightforward mobile game and what I mean by that is a game with a simple idea that is fun to play on mobile devices. Salad Hunt also has bonus stages where you will need to hit all the targets in the level and levels where food goes under the table and you’ll have to flip the table! The game is simplistic but mobile games need a simple idea for the players to keep coming back and Salad Hunt has that! The music and graphics add to that as well. I would keep coming back to play just to throw forks at that tomato guy!
