Samurai Riot Fighting Fit For Steam Release

Prepare your couch and order some sushi because The French developers from independent studio Wako Factory have launched their arcade co-op beat’em up Samurai Riot on Steam September 13th 2017 for your delectation!

Samurai Riot is an addictive, 2D, side scrolling, beat’em up inspired by 90’s classics, with original co-op features and a multi-branching, moral decision-making, storyline leading to eight different endings. Take on the role of Sukane, an enigmatic Ninja who fights alongside with Azu, the fox - who can transform into weapons; or Tsurumaru, a loyal samurai with a katana and a bunch of grenades, and set off on an adventure in a hand-painted 2D universe immersed in Japanese mythology.

Would you rather kill the rebel leader or betray your master and join the revolution?

Following your master’s orders to stop the turmoil of civil war between tradition and modernity. You’ll have to make deep moral choices, demanding serious reflection, in order to resolve the unstable political situation and discover the true meaning of honor as a samurai!

Every choice matters in Samurai Riot and each decision you’ll make will lead to a unique narrative path, with a completely different story!

Each player can develop their own way of playing and can mix different ways of fighting, be it punch, kick, grab, throw, poison, bombs - many ways to bring down Samurai Riot enemies and bosses that include massive Sumo wrestlers with law enforcement shields, trigger-happy ninjas, mythological Yokais and more.

Kevin Buchet, game designer at Wako Factory: “Samurai Riot is a game that can judge the quality of your cooperation. For example, if you protect your partner’s back or hit together the same enemy, you’ll be rewarded and unlock a deadly cooperative attack! Even the story involves both players equally, you’ll have to make team-based choices, or enter a PVP fight against your partner to win the lead!”
