E3 2017: Snakebyte Recap

I was getting used to stopping by the little meeting rooms for appointments during the Electronics and Entertainment Expo this year. The next stop was an appointment with Snakebyte to see what accessories they have planned for the Nintendo Switch in the future. Let’s jump right into it!

For starters, I love the fact that all these companies are going “full-on” for the Nintendo Switch in terms of accessories. It is a welcome site with the likes of PDP and Snakebyte bringing out some really good products for your Nintendo Switch consoles. They have a four charge coming out so you can charge four Joy Cons at the same time which if you have more than two will be pretty handy. Anything that charges the Joy Cons in addition to the Dock and Grip is welcome in my book. There is a Starter Kit Pro that is a case that also holds 12 game cartridges. It also comes with screen protectors and padded grips. The Switch is being advertised as a portable system so you’re going to need a case for it!

The next two items are two of the better things coming out in terms of accessories I’ve seen. First up is a Seat Mount, which will allow you to mount your Switch console to be mounted to your car seat. This is an ideal distraction for the kids for long car trips or if you need to win gas money from a trucker at a rest stop and you challenge him to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.  Next is news that all Switch owners want to hear, a way to extent the battery life.

The new add-on doesn’t add much weight to the Switch and it gives the system about 5-6 more hours of battery life. It just goes onto the back of the Switch and doesn’t get in the way at all. I really like the fact that it doesn’t add too much weight to the system because if it did, it would make handheld gaming a hassle. It will also add an extra kickstand that is more substantial than the one on the Switch so you won’t have to always be afraid of breaking it off. Snakebyte is also coming out with a Game Stand that you can use to prop your Switch up. This will make playing with the Pro Controller off the TV much easier as well as if you don’t have a hard flat service to set the system down, now you do.

I mentioned before that it’s great to see companies wanting to create products for Nintendo and the Nintendo Switch. I can’t wait to see what these companies come up with next!
