E3 2017: Performance Designed Products Recap

PDP or Performance Designed Products have some of the best headsets and controllers around. I have recently been able to review quite a few things from the company and last year was able to set up a booth tour with the company. Fast-forward to this year and the set up was a little smaller, with PDP being in one if the smaller meeting rooms. That was a better setup for them because it was much easier for them to show off everything they have to offer!

It has been pretty simple these days for PDP from a business side, Pixel Pals and Nintendo Switch accessories. If it isn’t broken why fix it? This was their business plan for E3 and I saw no problem with it. In fact I should just give them my paycheck now because I saw quite a few things I wanted in the meeting room. Everyone would be proud of me because I didn’t walk out with any Nintendo stuff and it was really hard with some of the Pixel Pals looking at me.

Let me start with all the Pixel Pals that PDP has plans to release soon. Mid July has the Caped Crusader, Batman, the Joker, and Harley Quinn getting the Pixel treatment. There will be plenty of pop-culture and more video game reference Pixel Pals coming soon as well. PDP signed a deal with Nickelodeon so you’ll be able to get your hands on a Ren or Stimpy Pixel Pal or TMNT one soon. Sega and Sony will be joining too so fans for Ratchet from Ratchet and Klank as well as Kratos from God of War will be happy. The Pixel Pals look really neat and I can’t wait for the Ren and Stimpy ones. Mortal Kombat fans can also look out for Pixel Pals so pretty soon everyone who has a fandom will be able to say they have a Pixel Pal to their name.

Next up was Nintendo Switch accessories and controllers. I have been waiting for Nintendo accessories from PDP for a long time because I always get PS4 accessories but my first love is Nintendo. Finally, PDP is going to bring out Pro controllers with changeable facings on them, like the ones they brought out for the NFL controllers. The facing is plastic but it will have a Nintendo theme on it such as Mario, Luigi, or the Legend of Zelda. I had a tough time getting the one off on the demo unit to make sure it was a facing but the display box said facing on it. When, they are released, just be careful, they could break since they’re just plastic.

Finally, there were Switch cases, chargers, and dock lights which all looked great by the way. The cases were themed around Super Mario, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. All of them had vibrant colors and their designs popped off the case. The same could be said for the dock lights. You could tell right away that you were looking at a dock based on the Legend of Zelda because of the enemies lit up on it. The chargers looked like the run-of-the-mill chargers but for Switch Joy Cons.

The Pixel Pals have to get any video game fan excited! I would love to see what Pokémon characters look like or one of my favorites that will never happen, Snow Brothers!
