Nintendo Has Mario On The Brain For E3 This Year!

The Electronics and Entertainment Expo will be here soon and companies are slowly booking their appointments for the convention. They’re also finalizing their plans for what they’re actually going to show off at the show in Los Angeles. Nintendo, hot off the release of the Switch, appears to have their thoughts in order and their act together. Once again, there won’t be a press conference from the Big N but this mode of info sharing has worked in the past for Nintendo. Nintendo has other things planned besides their main man Mario but really is there anything that isn’t going to get overshadowed by Super Mario Odyssey?

First up is Nintendo’s answer to not having a press conference anymore at E3, the Nintendo Spotlight: E3 2017 video presentation. You’ll be able to watch this online at the Nintendo web site at Noon Eastern/9Am Pacific time. This presentation also has some interesting information put in it like the Star Fox Muppets, Robot Chicken Opening, and if you’re going to kill me on that stuff not being information, I believe we got Mega Man or one of the Pokémon announcements for Super Smash Brothers during this presentation. This was where the world saw Splatoon for the first time so there can always be a diamond in the rough and it pays to pay attention to anything Nintendo!

Continuing from the success they’ve had from years past, Nintendo Treehouse: Live at E3 will be back for another E3 to showcase Nintendo games and get the info you want to hear straight from developers. Treehouse will take control right after Nintendo’s video spotlight so there will always be something for you to watch and keep you entertained.

“Our various E3 activities will showcase the next steps for Nintendo Switch, from a summer of social competitive gaming to a holiday season highlighted by a milestone Mario adventure,” said Reggie Fils-Aime, President and COO, Nintendo of America. “With Nintendo Treehouse: Live at E3, fans at home can watch in-depth gameplay of Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS games launching this year.”

Also gaining momentum from past E3 success is Nintendo tournament play, which Splatoon 2 and ARMS will be front and center in. The 2017 Splatoon 2 World Inkling Invitational will warp up at E3, with a winner crowned as international champion on June 13. On June 14, the 2017 ARMS Open Invitational will take place so train hard; maybe get some pointers from Little Mac! Looks like E3 is going to be a fun time to be a Nintendo fan because you never know what’s going to come out. If we get a new Pokémon game (speculation online says we do in the form of Pokémon Stars)) a new Kirby, Metroid-classic game and dark horse-Snow Bros game, I’ll be happy. I ask for a Snow Bros game every E3 and it never happens. It has replaced my request for Pokémon Red and Blue to come to the eShop so I needed a request to ask for that I think is so far out of reach it will never happen.
